Casio impresses with its new model, the Casio QV-3EX which is a special camera and entering with force a very competitive market! It was unveiled in the US on the 24/2/00. The Casio QV-3EX has been launched at a price of 850in the US, a great deal. The QV-3EX gets a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536. It can also be set at a lower resolution of 1024 x 768. The image ratio on the Casio QV-3EX has been set at 4:3, making a camera of 3.1 mega pixels. The sensor of the QV-3EX is a CCD measuring only 1/1.8 " having a RGB color filter. Casio added a digital zoom on its QV-3EX with an internal flash being a standard in nowadays cameras .

The normal focus range between the camera and the object is 50 cm. The minimum shutter speed on the QV-3EX is 1 seconds and the maximum shutter speed is 1/3000 seconds. Movie clips are also supported in this version which is always a useful function. The Casio QV-3EX has an internal memory of 16 mb extendable with Compact Flash (Type I or II). The LCD screen of the QV-3EX is measuring 1.8 ". A video output is available allowing you to watch your favorite pictures on television. Connection to a computer is available through USB.
